Southern Italy and Amalfi Coast Tour

Join us in a beautiful moto tour in the south of Italy with an incredible Mediterranean cuisine and a fascinating history. Bleached by the sun and wet by surrounded seas, this is the ancient Italy at it's best.

Starting from Rome, the route will take us in the heart of the Italian Appennino, we will have fun riding winding streets. A stop in Montecasino, scenery of one of the most sadly famous battle of the the II World War. We will visit and stay overnight in Matera, the city of the “stones”, European Capital of Culture 2019, World Heritage of Humanity by Unesco. We will proceed to uncontaminated landscape, between surly mountains and depopulated villages that follows one another along our route, to the Tyrrhenian coastline until arriving in Maratea. From here, riding in a beautiful italian coastline routes, we will enter in the National Park of Cilento. At this point is missing to the appeal “only” Positano, in the Costiera Amalfitana. We will visit beautiful villages overlooking the sea, and the ancient city of Pompei, before to come back in Rome, the “eternal city”.

DAY 1.  Welcome to Italy!

Upon arrival in Rome, meet at the designated hotel for check-in. Spend your free time relaxing or exploring the Eternal City before our safety briefing. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional Italian restaurant, savouring the classic cuisine of Lazio.

DAY 2.  From Rome to Cassino

We depart Rome, navigating tangential routes and a brief stretch of highway. In Tivoli, we’ll join the SS5 Tiburtina, an ancient Roman consular road, passing through Arsoli, with views of its fortress and Oricola Castle in the distance. Our journey takes us to Cervara di Roma, climbing into the Simbruini Mountains toward the medieval village of Subiaco. Along the famed “Road of Monasteries,” we’ll admire Santa Scolastica and San Benedetto amidst rugged, picturesque landscapes. From Jenne, we’ll ascend Serra Sant’Antonio Pass, before continuing to Cassino. This historic town is famed for Montecassino Abbey, one of the world’s most renowned monastic sites.

DAY 3.  From Cassino to Matera

Today’s long yet scenic route offers breathtaking views as we traverse highways cutting through Italy’s verdant countryside. Experience the vastness of the SS90 road and the striking Murge landscapes. En route, we’ll pause at Gravina di Puglia, perched dramatically over a limestone gorge. Our day ends in Matera, the city of “stones”. Prepare to be captivated by its ancient cave dwellings and unique architecture, as tomorrow is dedicated to exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 4.  Matera (Rest Day)

Discover Matera with a local guide who will unveil the city’s hidden gems. Wander through steep alleys and marvel at cave dwellings carved into the rock, blending ancient ingenuity with natural surroundings. Visit the ravine for stunning vistas, as if suspended in time. Tonight’s dinner is in a charming trattoria nestled within a rock-hewn setting, where you’ll savor authentic regional flavors.

DAY 5. From Matera to Maratea

Departing Matera, we follow the SS7, another historic Roman road, through villages like Irsina, Grottole, and Tricarico. The "Piccole Dolomiti Lucane" mountains rise before us, offering pristine landscapes and winding roads.Continuing through Accettura, Grumentum, and Corleto Perticara, the scenery shifts between unspoiled nature and forgotten paths. Finally, we reach the Tyrrhenian Sea and Maratea, known as the "Pearl of the Tyrrhenian" for its stunning beaches and panoramic views.

DAY 6.  From Maratea to Amalfi Coast

The journey begins along the breathtaking SS18 coastal road, carved into cliffs with dazzling blue seas below. As we traverse the Cilento National Park, we’ll pass Marina di Camerota and Palinuro, both steeped in myth and natural beauty. From Montano Antilia, Cilento's highest village, the SS18 offers sweeping views of the sea. Before reaching the Amalfi Coast, we’ll stop at Acciaroli and Castellabate, ending the day in Positano, where stunning cliffs meet emerald waters.

DAY 7: Rest Day in Amalfi Coast

Spend a leisurely day exploring Positano, famed for its pebble beaches and charming streets lined with boutiques and cafés. Visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, known for its Byzantine icon and colorful majolica dome. For an unforgettable experience, opt for a day trip to Capri. This iconic island boasts dramatic landscapes, luxurious shops, and authentic Italian charm.

DAY 8: From Amalfi Coast to Pompeii to Caserta

Today’s highlight is Pompeii, a city frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Explore its remarkably preserved ruins, including ancient streets, villas, and temples. Later, we continue to Caserta, a vibrant city renowned for its Bourbon Royal Palace, an 18th-century masterpiece of opulence and grandeur.

DAY 9: From Caserta to Rome

Our final leg takes us along an alternative scenic route brimming with curves and captivating views. We’ll return to Rome in the afternoon to hand over the bikes and conclude the journey.

DAY 10.  Airport transfer and check-out

After breakfast, transfer to the airport. Arrivederci, and safe travels home!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

MINIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 8

If the minimum number of participants isn’t reached, the tour may be cancelled or run with a different format.

 

WHAT IS INCLUDED:

  • Motorcycle rental with bags. (A security deposit on the motorcycle requested).

  • The bike rental prices include 3rd part insurance and roadside assistance insurance in case of breakdown.

  • Welcome and farewell dinners.

  • Accommodation in 4-star hotels when available at the time of booking.

  • Transfer to and from the airport.

  • Multilingual tour leader.

  • Transfer to and from the rental agency.

  • Support van. The van will carry a replacement motorcycle available for participants in case of problems or breakdowns. You will be able to use the van for carrying suitcases (1 suitcase + 1 handbag per person),an extended service also for all the souvenirs you will buy along the way. The van also has two seats for passengers in case of need or for rest of the motorcycle trip!

  • A detailed road book with all the information and a map with the itinerary well marked.

  • Insurance covering most any medical issue during the trip including, doctors, ambulance, hospital and any appropriate family travel.

  • Fuel for your motorcycle.

  • Tolls on motorways.

  • Entrance tickets to museums or other touristic sites.

  • Tips and gratuities

  • All meals except welcome and farewell dinners.

  • All beverages.

  • National and international flights

  • We also suggest that anyone traveling abroad for one of our tours consider purchasing "travel insurance". It can eliminate worry from unexpected situations that can arise in any travel plan.

 

TERMS OF PAYMENT:

  • Advanced payment of 1000 euro to be paid at the moment of the reservation (The deposit will be completely refundable in the event that we do not reach the minimum number of participants or in an agreed manner between the parties, if the tour will be made in modality different with different services).

  • Balance to be paid 60 days before the departure date subject to confirmation by our organization

CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Up to 60 days before the start date, the advanced payment is kept for the entire following season as credit towards a tour or a rental.

  • From the 59th day to the 15th day before the start date,  you lose the advanced payment. The balance is kept for the entire following season towards a tour or a rental.

  • From the 15th day before the start date, you lose the 50% of the total amount. The other 50% is kept for the entire following season towards a tour or a rental.
